Building Trust through Authenticity Often, effective leadership is not punctuated by perfection, but rather, connection. The fastest way to connect with others is to be real . . . be authentic, and (oh YES) even vulnerable.
One way to enhance trust and take a relationship to a deeper level is to share a brief three to five minute story about yourself. Avoid sharing a story that makes you look like you have it all together and instead, take a calculated risk and share a common human need or a season in your life where you felt stalled or lacked confidence.
Be real and share specific details - who/what/when/why/how. Remember, it's healthy to laugh at yourself and share a new perspective with others.
"For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of your own doing, it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8
